How the Marketplace Works

The Marketplace is where Buyers discover loyalty programs and where Sellers showcase their loyalty currency to potential partners.

It is the central hub of the qiibee Points Exchange Infrastructure (PEI), enabling businesses to connect, evaluate each other, and form partnerships for earning, burning, or converting loyalty points.

This article explains how the marketplace works, how programs appear, how you interact with them, and what each element on a partner card means.

1. What the Marketplace Is

The Marketplace is a curated list of all approved and visible Sellers on the PEI.

It allows Buyers to:

  • Explore loyalty programs

  • Compare partner details

  • See capabilities (Earn, Burn, Convert)

  • Review program descriptions

  • Check active regions

  • Submit partnership requests

  • Track request status

For Sellers, the marketplace serves as:

  • A public profile of their loyalty program

  • A channel to receive verified buyer requests

  • A way to promote their brand and capabilities

  • A tool to manage partnerships securely

2. Submitting a Partnership Request

Once a Buyer selects a program, they can initiate a partnership request directly from the Seller profile. The request includes:

A. Partnership capabilities (Seller-defined)

From Seller configuration:

  • Earn

  • Burn

  • Convert

✔ Buyers can see which capabilities they can activate with this partnership.

B. Mandatory agreements (optional)

Sellers can require Buyers to accept:

  • Loyalty agreements

  • Data policies

  • Additional terms

These must be accepted before submitting.

C. KO criteria

If the Seller defined KO rules (e.g., “No reselling miles for money”),

→ Buyers must confirm compliance before submitting.

D. Custom questions

Sellers can ask Buyers questions such as:

  • Expected monthly transaction volume

  • Promotional channels

  • Integration plans

These are shown directly in the request form.

E. Request submission

After filling the form, Buyers click “Send Request”, and the Seller receives the inbound request.

3. What Happens After a Request Is Sent

Each request has a status:

  • Pending → Seller has not yet responded

  • Approved → Partnership active

  • Declined → Seller declined the request

  • Declined (cooldown) → Buyer cannot reapply for 30 days

  • Active → Earn/Burn/Convert live

  • Cancelled → Partnership ended

Buyers and Sellers can both track request status in their dashboards.

4. How the Marketplace Benefits Buyers & Sellers

For Buyers

  • Easy partner discovery

  • Unified screening process

  • Structured partnership setup

  • Secure and compliant environment

  • No need for lengthy external negotiations

For Sellers

  • Brand exposure

  • Simple buyer intake workflow

  • Controlled KO checks

  • Automated data collection

  • Increased distribution of loyalty currency
