Buyer, Seller or Both?
Understand the two roles on PEI and choose the right one for your company.
Every company on PEI acts as a Buyer, a Seller, or both. The role you choose during company setup determines what you see in the dashboard and how you interact with partners.
1. Buyer
A Buyer rewards its own customers with a Seller's loyalty currency, for example a retailer issuing airline miles for purchases.
- Discovers Sellers in the Marketplace and sends partnership requests
- Selects a package and prepays for loyalty currency
- Rewards customers via API, CSV upload or the Customer Portal
2. Seller
A Seller operates a loyalty program and makes its currency available to Buyers, for example an airline or hotel group.
- Maintains a program profile in the Marketplace
- Defines partnership requirements, agreements and questions
- Reviews and approves incoming partnership requests
- Provides marketing resources to approved Buyers
3. Buyer & Seller
A company that runs its own loyalty program and also wants to reward its members with other programs' currencies. The dashboard shows both perspectives.
4. Choosing Your Role
- Choose Buyer if you want to reward your customers with someone else's points or miles.
- Choose Seller if you want other companies to distribute your points or miles.
- Choose Buyer & Seller only if both apply today.
The role cannot be changed from the dashboard after setup. If your business model changes, contact support.
